Iconic Marlon Brando on 1950 Triumph Thunderbird

Marlon Brando on  his 1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T valued at $20 million

Marlon Brando leaning on his 1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T photographed during the filming of The Wild One in 1953, inspired Andy Warhol 13 years later to create a silkscreen print titled "Marlon." The legendary piece of motorcycle art is expected to sell for a cool $20 million when it is auctioned in November 2012 at Christie's in New York City.

  1. Interesting thing about that … the movie “The Wild One” was about the 1947 Gypsy Tour in Hollister Ca. and “Johnny” was riding a Thunderbird that didn’t come out until 1949 and the one he was riding was a 1950 model which was the first year the UK exported them. My first big bike was a 1956 T-Bird … wish I still had it. I helped Tom and Mike Corbin with security at their site on the 50th anniversary of that event … I was holding back traffic for Sunny and the Oakland Red and White to enter … great fun ... it was history and I helped to make it.
